八湯御桑拿 Opens 26 August — Opening Rates Published
Published
This piece records what was announced on 26 August 2026, opening day. The board was updated on 18 September 2026: the published range is now MOP 1,199 – 7,499, the entry minimum is MOP 1,199, and a second session runs 1,299 – 3,900. Current figures are always on the rates page.
A new bathhouse arrives in Macau’s NAPE district — 八湯御桑拿 (八湯御桑拿), on the 4th floor of the New Orient Landmark Hotel, 555 Avenida da Amizade, opening on 26 August 2026. The sign at the sign reads 八湯御; both names mean the same house, and the other names it is listed under — 八湯桑拿, 八湯水療, 御水療, Yu Spa — all point here too. If in doubt, ask the hotel lobby for the sauna on the fourth floor.
The name
八 is the luckiest number in Chinese and also carries the sense of 八方, the eight directions — guests from everywhere. 湯 is the old word for hot spring water and bathing, still used by Japanese bathhouses. 御 is the honorific once reserved for the court — the standard kept for honoured guests. Together: guests from every direction, received with the courtesy of the bath.
What is inside
Everything is newly fitted out for 2026, with Japanese quiet and Chinese detail sharing one floor:
- Hinoki dry sauna — tiered pale hinoki benches under warm lighting, the scent of the wood arriving with the heat
- Glass steam room — glazed from wall to wall, so the room stays open even full of steam
- Hot pool hall — a soak to start, with showers and changing facilities on the same floor
- Private massage rooms — a bath in every room, so you can wash before or after without going back out
- Lantern corridor and dining lounge — timber screens and lanterns leading to quiet seating for afterwards
A suggested order: pools, then dry sauna, then a massage — staff can arrange it.
Hours
Open 24 hours, so you can come in and rest at any time; therapists are on shift from 13:00 until 06:00 the next morning. Late flights and early border crossings are both catered for. The team is multinational — ask when you book about the day you are coming.

Getting there
The New Orient Landmark Hotel sits in the middle of NAPE — a few minutes by car from the Macau Ferry Terminal, about 10 minutes from the border gate and about 15 from the airport. Book through this site and a car collects you from your hotel, the ferry terminal or the border. The first month is likely to be busy, so booking ahead is worth it.
