What does the name 八湯御 mean?
八 is the luckiest number in Chinese and also carries the sense of 八方, the eight directions — guests from everywhere. 湯 is the old word for hot spring water and bathing, still used by Japanese bathhouses. 御 is the honorific once reserved for the court — the standard kept for honoured guests. Together: guests from every direction, received with the courtesy of the bath.

Newly fitted out throughout for 2026: a hinoki dry sauna, a glass steam room, the hot pool hall, private massage rooms each with a bath, the lantern corridor, a dining lounge, and changing and shower facilities.
